Welcome to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office’s crime reporting system. Citizens are encouraged to report crimes that have occurred within Randolph County, West Virginia. If the crime occurred outside of our service area, please contact the appropriate law enforcement agency.

Submit A Crime Tip

You may submit a tip to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office by downloading, completing, and returning the form below. Please provide relevant information about what type of crime or incident is suspected (for example, theft or other crime, suspicious persons, abandoned vehicles, etc.). Complete as many lines of the report as possible. Please include whatever information you have, even if you only have partial information, such as a description of a suspect, vehicle, or part of a license plate number. The information in the report you provide will be reviewed, screened, and may be used to help us investigate the crime you are reporting.

NOTICE: This system is not monitored continuously. If there is an emergency, there is a present or continuing danger, the crime involves domestic violence or physical injury, or the crime you want to report is happening right now, do not use this form. Instead, call 9-1-1.

Submit A Statement To Law Enforcement

If you believe that a crime has been committed, but do not require immediate assistance, you may use the form below to record your formal statement of exactly what happened. False Reporting WV Code 61-6-20

WV Code 61-6-20 provides that knowingly giving false information to a law enforcement office or agency is a crime punishable by law.

A person is guilty of reporting a false emergency incident when knowing the information reported, conveyed, or circulated is false or baseless, he/she reports to law enforcement officer or agency:

– The alleged occurrence of any offense or incident which did not in fact occur, or

– An allegedly impending occurrence of an offense or incident which is not in fact about to occur, or

– False information relating to an actual offense or incident or to the alleged implication of some person therein.

Any person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or confined in the county jail not more than six (6) months, or both fined and confined.
